Look up the word glitch, and you will find adjectives like malfunction, unwanted, undesired, defect, etc. Well, dictionaries of the world, we’ve got news for you! Never has a glitch been so desired as for the newest Front Row Society design challenge, aptly named ‘Digital Glitch’! This challenge gives you the opportunity to find that perfect image and really mess it up, skew it, chop it, get neon running through it! And then apply it to a pair of leggings.

This challenge is for leggings! If your legging design wins, you will receive 200€ as well as 200€ every time 500 of your leggings are sold. A pair of the leggings will also be winging its way to you as soon as they hit the Front Row boutique! To heighten your chances of winning, submit as many entries as you want! If you have multiple winning designs, baby, then go ahead and multiply 200€ by that number!

So get on it! Do a bit of thinking, glitch up some great images and submit them here over the next few weeks. If you need any inspiration, you can take a look at Front Row Society’s Pinterest page! Being caressed by the warm waters of the oceans and surrounded by soothing blues and greens is something that we just never want to end. Front Row Society can’t literally recreate this for you, but we can try our hardest by offering you a range of beautiful scarves to wrap yourself in, much in the same way the water rests on your skin. This timeless trend reminds you and everyone who’s looking of dreamy holidays gone by – and to come! The turquoise tones of City Blues by Max Rambaldi, the light, airy crashing waves of L’eau by Siobahn Palmer or the darker, warmer day, deeper-water tones of Waterball by Mihaela Anohina and Beauty and Destruction by Carla Williams all encompass the wonderful colors and hues of the ever-changing water. These are just some of our favorites, but there are so many more to choose from! Find these and more them all at the Front Row Society boutique!

As you will have seen, Front Row Society and iHeartBerlin released an awesome range of leggings last week! The imagery was taken from photos that had been taken at iHeartBerlin parties and featured party people of Berlin.

One particular party person was the lovely Sophia Hoffmann, who is a real woman of all trades. You find her lifestyle and food blog at oh-sophia.net, but will also find her enjoying life as a DJane, chef and journalist, with her heart in both Berlin and Vienna. It is really quite an honor to have such an it-girl featured on a pair of our leggings!

Oh – did we mention she’s covered in some fantastic tattoos?! Her colorful arms are kaleidoscoped across her decks, and really make these leggings a must-have for all those who love tattoos, music and being an individual! Here are some photos taken by her friend Manuela Wurm of Sophia enjoying her arms on her legs in the park.

Another challenge has come to an end! Our latest ‘Collage‘ design brief asked Front Row Society’s international designers to come up with artworks based on collage art to be printed on a scarf for our Summer collection 2014. We wanted a big old mix of mediums, from hand-cut paper to painting to computer graphics. We wanted it to be whacky and wild – and that’s exactly what we got!

Over 200 submissions came in, from beautiful and hilarious to horrifying and somber; all in one place. We were amazed by all the imagination, wonderful ideas, images and colors we came across! And as usual, we had a tough job picking the winners – made easier only by the help of our committed voters!

The lucky winners receive 200€ per winning design as well as 200€ every time 500 of their product is sold! And once their product comes into our shop, they of course get one sent straight to them! So with no further ado, let us introduce you to the fantastic winning designs and their creators of the ‘Collage‘ design challenge!

What a fantastic set of designs, am I right?! We absolutely can’t wait for these to arrive in our shop! Which one(s) will you pick? Now go and submit to the ‘World of Worship‘ design challenge which is only open for submissions until the June 15th!

What we here at Front Row Society particularly like about this ‘World of Worship’ scarf-challenge tutorial is its versatility! Not only can you use the great template and vector resources we’re providing you with for the creation of your scarf design, but you can also find your inspiration for your El Dia de Muertos Mexican-skull face! We know that’s what we’ll be doing! Anyway – on with the tutorial!

STEP 1: Download the Skull Template and Ornaments

Click here to download the template of the blank skull and the ornamental vectors for you to decorate it with!

STEP 2: Fill the Skull!

Open the file with Illustrator or Photoshop and start filling the skull with the ornaments! You can combine the different ornaments to create new complex ones, and don’t be scared – just keep on packing them in! You can always remove them after. We also recommend that you start without color – it’s better to color in the skull when you’ve finished filling it.

STEP 3: Bring Your Skull to Life!

It is now time to add life to your white skull! Open the ‘World of Worship’ color palette and start filling the background and ornaments with the Pantones. Please remember you must follow the color scheme we provide in the submission package.

STEP 4: Mix the Skulls!

We’ve got 5 different skulls, using only 3 colors on each. We’ve created the scarf design overlapping them randomly, mixing different colors and sizes. Et voilà, here is the result!

Now it’s your turn to get on with creating some beautiful, haunting skulls. Don’t forget, you don’t have to follow the tutorial religiously – mix the skull with whatever, in whatever way you want to! We want to see how you depict the ‘World of Worship’! Good luck!

This has been one fun challenge! There are some awesomely funny ‘Collage’ entries which have really had us laughing here at Front Row Society headquarters! And of course there have been some very beautiful, crazy ones too! All in all we’ve had over 200 submissions and now it’s over to you to vote for your favorites! Take another look at the design brief to freshen up your memory on what it is that we are looking for this time around. And whatever you do, don’t forget that it’s for a scarf!

You may remember that Front Row Society and iHeartBerlin decided to embark on another design collaboration back in March 2013? iHeartBerlin put forward 13 great party photos from which 6 winners were chosen to go ahead onto being part of Front Row Society’s 2013 scarves and leggings collection!

Finally, we can announce the first installment! As part of FRS’ summer collection, we are releasing the leggings today! There are 4 different print designs to choose from – the (need we say it) floral ‘Flower Bottom’, the music-lovers / tattoo-lovers ‘Hey Ms DJane’, the “new take on a classic” ‘Leopard Affairs’ and the monochrome, haunting ‘Skulette‘! Get on over the Front Row Society boutique before they run out – we’ve got a feeling they’ll be selling like hot cakes!

Receiving these pictures from dressile.com blogger, Carina Parke, really put a bit of color in Front Row Society’s grey Berlin days! She looks so cosy in her outfit, and we just love what she did with the Remist scarf! Thanks to her pal Dogukan Nesanir for taking the photos too!

In Berlin, it seems like november is back in town. It’s getting colder again and it’s raining all day. But that’s no reason to be in a bad mood. Just add a few colors to your outfit and then it feels like spring again! And that’s exactly what I did.

I’m combining a maxi-dress with a simple sweater and I’m trying to spice things up with my colorful accessories. I chose to wear Front Row Society’s ‘Remist’ backpack by Emma Smyth. I love to wear backpacks because it fits my style and it’s also really practical and comfortable. And I’m totally into the pattern – kinda reminds me of the 70s.

The ‘Remist’ scarf also fits the backpack because it’s the same pattern. I love to wear scarves as turbans or headbands. I guess, that’s one of my favorite trends this season. You guys should try it, too!

One thing that Front Row Society’s design challenges certainly give you, dearest designers, is the motivation to research areas of life, culture and nature that you may not always find the time to! This challenge is no different! ‘World of Worship’ requires you to take a look at the many beliefs, rituals and iconography – past and present – that cover our world. From the creation and destruction of the Sun Mandala in Tibet to Voodoo rituals on Haiti, from the festival of Midsummer in Northern Europe to celebrating the dead in Mexico, there are ceremonies galore which can be used as inspiration to create an enchanting, meaningful, unique scarf design.

Winners receive 200€ per winning design as well as one of the completed products as soon as they land in our shop. And YES – it is most definitely possible to have multiple winning designs! Just as long as they’re the ones that are liked the most, there is nothing stopping you from winning more than once. So send in as many designs as you can! Also, when a design is sold 500 times, winners receive another 200€!

The toughest thing about having so many designs, and so many incredible designs at that, is the being allowed to pick only 7!! The variety alone in the designs threw us. ‘African Heat’, Africa inspired – we could never have imagined so many takes on the theme! From animals to fruit to full-print geometric patterns in all shapes, colors and sizes – where do you start when trying to decide what will be received the best?! Well – with the voters of course! We couldn’t have done it without your help! Seriously – this time was the toughest ever! So many entries, so few winners!

And those lucky winners! Not only will their designs be printed on Front Row Society’s first-ever swimwear collection, but they will receive a cool 200€ as well as another 200€ each time 500 of their design are sold! Now take a look at the gorgeous winning designs!
