Front Row Society x Design Milk Design Challenge

Front Row Society x Design Milk Design Challenge

For most of you out there who, like us, have a soft spot for all things design, art and fashion, Design Milk needs no introduction. The popular blog founded and run by Jaime Derringer since 2006, features what’s new in art, architecture, interior design, furniture and decor, fashion and technology from around the world, and has been instrumental in helping designers get the word out on their work. Which is why Design Milk was the perfect choice to partner with for an exciting scarf design challenge!

Re-creating texture using a computer isn’t easy, but it’s your new challenge. To enter “Visceral Textures“, you only have to observe your environment and locate the formations in nature, find beauty and structure in micro cosmoses, or seek pattern in the man-made. But be sure it’s something that you can truly feel without touch. Feel free to use your hands, drawings or Photoshop to manipulate images to create a texture that evokes a visceral response; in other words, something you can immediately feel; an image that makes your touch senses react. Anything goes. Be creative and don’t hold back! Every object has a texture and depth, and we want you to bring it to life.

From this very special design challenge, FRS and Design Milk will select three winners, whom will receive a cash prize of €800 ($1000), 3% of sales and the opportunity to land in some fantastic retail shops around the world. But that’s not all! The three winners will also get a scarf of their own design so they can show it off. We will also conduct an interview with the winners, publicizing their design across the fashion community in Berlin and worldwide.

If you’re one of our adventurous designers, we invite you to gather your best tools and ring your ‘A’ game. Starting on February 5th, this joint design challenge brought to you by Front Row Society & Design Milk, will be open for submissions until February 19th. Then, for a period of 8 days, the FRS and Design Milk community will score and comment on your design. These scores and comments will help us decide which designs should become the next scarves to represent FRS and Design Milk.
